Part-time job

Nowadays, because of each person’s purposes, from different area, lots of people come to hochiminh city to work and study. For living in the most expensive city in Vietnam, beside their study, many students have to go to work to support their life. And part time jobs are their first choice because they fit to student’s time and ability.
Many students when finding a part time job want to be a tutor. That’s the job requires a good knowledge, good teaching ability, friendly, enthusiasm, have a sense of responsibility. But I think it’s a light piece of work, teaching 3 spells a week, about 2 hours a spell and get the salary same 2/3 the salary of a worker. In addition, it also provides much experience in teaching if students want to be a teacher. Beside that, there’s a job that lots of student do now is work in restaurant. Working in 2 days: Saturday and Sunday, the salary in a month maybe same the salary of a training worker. But this job is quite hard to do, it require a good health, agility and always smile. Because of this job’s nature, students have chance to contact with many people so they become confidence day by day in communication, having more life’s experience to avoid being like a fish out of water when graduating from university and finding a job. There are some ideas say that part time job makes students don’t concentrate on their study because they have to spend time for it and after working hours, students feel tired, just want to sleep, so they can’t maintain health to study. That idea maybe true, however, part time job has benefit or consequence, it depends on each students.
Part time job teach students lots of thing: confidence, experience, the way how to spend money. Beside that, students should have right attitude with part time job to avoid affecting study.

Terrible memory

My family is a kind of traditional one. It means that women in family have to master housework to become a capable wife. When we were child, my mom taught us lots of thing such as: how to cook a delicious meal, go to market, clean the floor…it’s seems that everything isn’t too hard for me to do, except one thing: ironing clothes although it’s quite easy. Because of having a terrible memory about it so every time I have to iron clothes, I always feel scared.
I still remember that was the first time I ironed clothes by myself. I also didn’t understand in that day why I chose my most beautiful shirt –a present when I graduated from primary school-to test. In spite of looking my mom did it many time, I still confused when I started to do it. After ironing it totally, I realized it still in normal condition. I mean it was a creased up shirt as it had never been ironed. I thought perhaps I ironed it in wrong way so I tried to do it again but it didn’t work. Finally, I found out I hadn’t connected it to the electricity. It was quite silly of me. After checking it carefully, I began at the beginning. Everything seemed to smooth but unluckily, when I nearly finished doing it, I had a phone’s call. I went to answer it and forgot the iron still in my shirt. When I came back, my beautiful shirt became another shape that I couldn’t describe. At that time, because of scaring and too young, I went straight to the iron, took it and threw away. But instead of picking its handle, I touched to its hottest place. So, at the result, I was scalded, I couldn’t do anything nearly a month. Since that time, when I have to iron clothes, I always feel terrible.
I also realized that I should be careful whenever doing something.

My swing

In life, although who you are, what you do, where you are, sometimes, you will feel tired. You just want to give up everything, come back our own peaceful place to keep our soul calm down. For each one, that peaceful place may be a small garden, a rock top in seaside or their small warm house. And for me, that is the swing under the lemon tree.
That swing was the birthday present that my father gave me when I was 4. For me, that is a great gift because at that time sitting on a swing was my hopeless. My swing isn’t a normal one. It was made from a big wheel and was bound by 2 big ropes. To decorate it and make more interest for me, dad hung some plastic nut on the ropes. So it looks very beautiful. Surround the wind, much kind of flowers was grown. When they bloom, natural flavor makes me feel very comfortable. Every time sitting on the swing I always have special feeling, peaceful and relived. When I have some sadness such as: bad mark or arguing with friend. I often come to swing’s place. While I swing, I tell it everything as confiding with a close friend. Although it can’t talk but it seems always understand, sympathy and encourage me. It like a good friend always listens closely and never complains.
Now, I am living far from my swing, I can’t come there frequently but I always remember it as a close friend and a peaceful place of my life.
